And most of the world looks at us and says, “You should be happy with that! There are people in third world countries who wish they could have that!”
But all men were born to roam and graze, to root and wallow, to scratch and peck. We all were made for this, but most of us have sought that comfortable factory farm environment in which we are provided for.
We have forgotten our instinctual natures.
And yet ... I know that I have not forgotten my nature.
I know that have a hunger to express my nature.
Life in this culture may be a factory farm, but I, like all the other animals, belong on the open range. I will escape the farm whenever I can, if only to remind myself of the beauty that was set down to define my existence.
I have never forgotten this.
And I never will.
